The Travel Architect learning more about Lithuania

Last night I attended a special evening at the Scottish Arts Club in Edinburgh learning more about Lithuania.

I also learnt how to make cold beetroot soup which was delicious !

With direct flights from Glasgow and Edinburgh to Vilnius and Kaunas it’s an ideal destination for a weekend away or for family holidays.

Vilnius is not only famous for its old town which is included in the UNESCO world heritage list but as it’s so green it’s a cyclists dream ! There is a 200km long seaside cycle path which runs along 3 bodies of water. With a beautiful cathedral, palace and castle there is plenty to see.

It’s also one of the few capitals in Europe over which you can take a hot air ballon ride,

Or why not chill out and revitalise yourself  at some of the amazing spa centres on offer at very affordable prices.

Kaunas is a city of green hills and medieval churches and you can easily visit both cities as they are only an hour apart.

Horse riding, golf, basketball, canoeing and kayaking  as well as cycling feature very heavily in the country so there are plenty if activities to enjoy.

So why not try Lithuania on your next holiday – See it ! Feel it ! Love it !
