No visit to Cape Town should not include afternoon tea at the Mount Nelson or “Nellie ” as it is known locally.
For 265 rand which is currently around £16 you can have the most amazing spread of sandwiches and cakes. Sit outside in the gardens or enjoy inside.
Dining with the stars is guaranteed at Cape Town’s most stylish restaurant. Crystal balls grace the entrance and the décor includes a galaxy-themed carpet, planetary chandelier and twinkling ceilings. It truly is an amazing space.Fantastic artwork leads you to Planet restaurant.
Matching the décor are Chef Rudi Liebenberg’s heavenly menus, journeys of gastronomic discovery featuring the freshest local ingredients.
I’ve been to Cape Town a few times before and this time decided to make the Belmond Mount Nelson Hotel our home for a few days.
The hotel is set in beautiful gardens at the base of Table Mountain and a short stroll to fashionable Kloof Street. It’s a quick £3 taxi journey down to the V and A Waterfront.
It has 2 pools in the landscaped gardens which are tended to by a team of gardeners and amongst the gardens there are many sculptures.
