Oil Nut Bay – Virgin Gorda – accommodation

There is a selection of accommodation types on Oil Nut Bay ranging from 2 – 6 bedroomed villas and 2 different types of one bedroomed suites.

Unfortunately I wasn’t able to see the penthouse cliff suite as it was occupied. It is perched on the rocky cliffs overlooking the Caribbean with dramatic views.

Oil Nut Bay – Virgin Gorda

I had the pleasure of visiting the private island of Oil Nut Bay on my recent visit to the Caribbean and being shown round the island by the lovely Courtney.

Oil Nut Bay has a variety of accommodation offering guests the quiet seclusion of their own private island with all the comforts and amenities of a full service resort.

Thanks for all the lovely gifts and I look forward to returning in the future to stay !

Watersports at Biras Creek Resort

The British Virgin Islands lend themselves to many different types of watersports.

Complimentary Boston whalers which are small boats are available for 2 hours every day – many guests I spoke to loved these and had great fun out on the water ! Sadly I didn’t have time to try them out – maybe next time ?

Captain Wayne offers sailing on the free folk boat twice a day – time to brush up on your sailing skills.

Biras Creek offers guests instruction and equipment to enjoy a variety of water sports. Kayaks, Laser sailboats and Hobie Cats and windsurfing boards are available for daily use at Deep Bay with expert instructors on the beach from 9 am to 5 pm

Peter Island resort and spa- Falcons Nest Villa

Wow – that’s my impression of the 6 bedroomed Falcons Nest Villa which sleeps 12 but can take up to 16 people.

Your own beautiful private pool with waterfalls and swim up bar, an enormous bath where the water comes out of the ceiling to fill it up !

There are many quirky pieces of art in the villa – here are some images of some if my favourite pieces

Peter Island Resort and Spa – Sunset Loop

Every evening you can head up to Sunset Loop to watch the sun go down.

This needs to be booked in advance as accommodates around 18 people.

It’s a 5 mile drive from reception to the vantage point and once there you are served with a cheese and fruit platter and wine, champagne, beer, basically your drink of choice.

Peter Island – British Virgin Islands

Peter Island Resort and Spa is a 30 minute boat transfer from Tortola airport.

The recorded history of the island begins in 1493 when Columbus sailed through this archipelago on his second voyage to the new world.
In the centuries that followed the Virgin Islands became steeped in colonial maritime history and legend.

Nearby Norman Island is believed to be Robert Louis Stevensons sons inspiration for Treasure Island

This private island has 3 villas and ocean view rooms along with beach front junior suites which is where I’m staying on my quick visit here.

There are 6 different beaches including the ” honeymoon beach” where only 2 people are allowed on it each day.

Peter Island is not just for couples though and along with an award winning spa there are complimentary water sports, a fitness centre, a club room and tennis and basketball courts. There is also a marine and dive shop.

The pictures below are of my beach front junior suite, the first picture leaving Trellis Bay which is 2 minutes from the airport and various beaches.
