I had a 2 1/2 hour spa treatment yesterday with Pany for an amazing 60 US dollars. I have been lucky over the years to have sampled many spas and this overall experience is up there with the best !
Access to the Angsana Spa is down a small path at the side of the hotel where there is a relaxation area overlooking a lily pond for before and after your treatment.
Fantastic welcome from the staff at Maison Souvannaphoum,
especially Mr Sor Vue and Mr Bounmee
This morning I was lucky to be able to take part in the morning alms round in Luang Prabang which is a living Budhist tradition for the people who live here.
Up at 5am it was an honour to take part in this and give offerings to the monks from Wat That Noi and Wat Hor Xieng
Although a small property the hotel has beautiful gardens, an Angsana Spa where I spent 2 wonderful hours yesterday and all the facilities including wifi which today’s traveller needs.
Loving my time in Luang Prabang in Laos at the fantastic Maison Souvannaphoum Hotel which was once the residence of Prince Souvannaphouma.
The hotel managed by Angsana Hotels and Resorts is near the heart of the town which reminds me of certain parts of Thailand 30 years ago.
We are staying in the Maison Suite in the main La Residence part which has 4 rooms and then there is the Garden wing with further bedrooms. This was formally the bedroom of Prince Souvannaphouma.
