It’s been a busy week for me this week as I spent 2 days in London at World Travel Market. This is a fantastic opportunity to meet up and network with old and new friends and is a great learning curve as suppliers, tourist boards, airlines and hoteliers from all over the world arrive in London.
The next evening I attended the prestigious SPAA awards ball in Glasgow where I was delighted to receive the award for “best homeworker in Scotland ” This is the second time I have received this award since it was first introduced 4 years ago and it’s now sitting proudly in my office !
On my way to Glasgow for the SPAA Christmas lunch – looking forward to seeing all my travel buddies !
The SPAA Annual Awards were held in Glasgow on Thursday night. This year there was a new award which was for best ‘homeworker’ in Scotland. This is voted for,by tour operators, airlines, car hire, cruise and ferry operators. I’m delighted to say that I won !
This morning I headed off to The Blythswood Hotel in Glasgow for meetings with the SPAA – The Scottish Passenger Agents Association of which I am a member of.
There were presentations and question and answer sessions with representatives of Thomas Cook, United Airlines, Superbreaks and Royal Caribbean cruise line.
These sessions keep you up to date with all that is happening in the ever changing world of travel.
After lunch it was the train back through to Edinburgh and to the Hotel Du Vin for the 2013 brochure launch for Caribtours and The Private Travel Company.
