There is a daily activities programme and I’ve listed some of the activities on offer:

There are 2 flood lit tennis courts and racquets and balls are provided. For golfers there is a putting green and a bunker to practice.

Bicycles and helmets are provided and there are a few organised cycling trips available or you can set off on an adventure of your own.

The hotel has its own vegetable and herb garden and once a week the chef does a garden tour.

Shanti Maurice – Mauritius – dining options

There are 2 main restaurants at Shanti – Stars which serves mainly cape cuisine and overlooks the ocean and Pebbles which serves Indian and typical Mauritian cuisine.

The Fish Shack – this restaurant opens once or twice a week and is situated on the beach in an informal rustic setting. The chef cooks fresh seafood on live charcoal grills.

GrandMa’s Kitchen – this is a fantastic way of eating dinner at the home of the GrandMa of one of the staff members. GrandMa teaches the guests how to cook local Mauritian dishes and is a very popular trip for guests to do.

If you wish to dine in your room or terrace there is no additional charge for this.

The Rum Shack is a cool bar area which has music several times a week .

The Travel Architect arrives at Shanti Maurice – Mauritius

I spent the last night of my recent fam trip with The Azure Collection at the 5 star Shanti Maurice Hotel – A Nira Resort in the south of Mauritius. Shanti means peace and its certainly the case here ! It’s a very peaceful, quiet place to chill out and have a holiday.

The resort is spread out over 36 acres of tropical gardens and you can easily wander around without meeting anyone else.

The hotel opened in 2006 with 61 suites which are split into 2 areas – 17 villas and 44 suites. The suites are oceanfront which are on the upper level and beachfront which have direct access to the beach and the addition of an outside shower. All suites are 81 sq mtrs so very large.

The villas are 1 and 2 bedroomed and have their own swimming pools, sala and extensive outside areas.
