The Travel Architect visits Constance Ephelia

Constance Ephelia is situated on 2 of the most beautiful beaches on the island of Mahe, overlooking the marine national park of Port Launay. The setting is within 120 hectares of land and mangroves.

There is a wide variety of accommodation types from junior suites, beach villas, spa villas to hillside villas with amazing views.

There are 5 different restaurants and 6 bars as well as in villa dining and private dinners on the beach or on your terrace.

Plenty of activities are on offer with a fitness centre, squash and tennis courts, zip lining and rock climbing and plenty of watersports.

I was lucky to have a massage at the USpa by Constance which is the largest spa in the Indian Ocean with 18 treatment rooms and was a fantastic experience.

The Travel Architect visits Desroches Island – The Seychelles

I am halfway through a 4 night stay at Desroches which is a 30 minute plane transfer from Mahe. It is 230 kms South of Mahe and is a coral island 6.4 kms long, surrounded by white sandy beaches and a protective reef, home to some of the best diving sites in The Seychelles.

Desroches was originally named Wood Island by the British because of its dense tree vegetation.

The island had a small population of around 100 and has luxury villas and suites which are separated by the airstrip which runs the whole width of the island.

Bicycles and kayaks are provided or if you want to have a lazy time you can call for a golf cart to get around.

The Travel Architect at the Kempinski Seychelles Resort

After a swift 30 minute transfer from the international airport with Chris from The Seychelles Tourist Board ( chatting about Liverpool Football Club and amongst other things whoever thought we would be discussing Allo Allo and Hyacinth Bouquet ) we arrived on the exclusive south end of Mahé at The Kempinski Seychelles Resort. The hotel is on the famous Baie Lazare and only 40 minutes from the capital Victoria.

It’s a quick overnight stay before we hop on a plane to explore this amazing part of the world.

The Kempinski caters for all – from honeymooners to families and groups of friends holidaying together.

If you have enough of chilling out by the pool or at the beach there are tennis courts, volleyball and a gym along with a fantastic watersports and a Padi diving centre.

The hotel also has Kempinski The Spa set in the midst of a green sanctuary and beneath granite rock foundations.
