A busy week for The Travel Architect

It’s been a busy week for me this week as I spent 2 days in London at World Travel Market. This is a fantastic opportunity to meet up and network with old and new friends and is a great learning curve as suppliers, tourist boards, airlines and hoteliers from all over the world arrive in London.

The next evening I attended the prestigious SPAA awards ball in Glasgow where I was delighted to receive the award for “best homeworker in Scotland ” This is the second time I have received this award since it was first introduced 4 years ago and it’s now sitting proudly in my office !

The Travel Architect, Stephen Gallacher and The Ryder Cup

I was honoured to share the experience of meeting Stephen Gallacher at Kingsfield Driving Range, Linlithgow today. The occasion was the appearance of the Ryder Cup from its vault in London for the afternoon and a golf clinic with Stephen.

Thanks from Fiona @ The Travel Architect

The Travel Architect offers a bespoke, personalised service which ensures clients always have the exact holiday they brief me on.

This week I’ve had some great feedback from returning clients and some beautiful gifts so “Thank You ” very much.

Beautiful flowers received today from clients who had a fantastic holiday in Bangkok and Koh Samui to celebrate their silver wedding anniversary.

I spent an hour looking at their holiday pics as I love Thailand so much !

First stop was The Banyan Tree in Bangkok and these were their comments :

Yes we were upgraded to a suite and this also entitled us to full use of club room facilities and spa. It also gave us complimentary massages, 90 minutes each, and free champagne on arrival for our anniversary. It is hard living like royalty but we will just have to get used to it. We loved Koh Samui and the Bophut beach resort and spa and had lots of anniversary treats on arrival.Thank you very much for organising everything for us and the card you sent out from Scotland. Your attention to detail was amazing.

Then I received a fantastic Jo Malone bag of goodies from a client for all my efforts  in organising a holiday to Venice and the Italian Lakes for her 50th birthday.

The Golden Triangle – India

I was lucky to be invited on a fantastic trip to India last September with If Only Holidays.

Seeing the Taj Mahal has to be one of the most memorable times of my life and somewhere that was on my “bucket list “

8 DAY, 7 NIGHT TOUR from £1615 per person

The ‘Golden Triangle’ – Delhi, Agra and Jaipur – encompasses the perfect combination of sights for the first time India visitor, or indeed the repeat visitor who hasn’t had an opportunity to experience some of these incredible places.

The journey begins with India’s vast capital, Delhi, which is made up of the ‘old city’ with its bustling markets and stunning Mughal architecture, and New Delhi with wide tree lined avenues, beautiful gardens, and imposing buildings designed by renowned British architect Edwin Lutyens.

Moving on, you visit Agra to experience the timeless beauty of the Taj Mahal, and on to Jaipur, also known as the ‘Pink City’. Jaipur is the capital of the desert state of Rajasthan, dotted with forts and palaces, many still home to maharajas, and is home to the elaborate City Palace with its museum brimming with historic memorabilia, an ancient observatory and the hilltop fort of Amber.
